Donald Bent, who has been under investigation in the February murder of his wife, walked away from Albany County Jail a free man Wednesday as part of a release agreement that surprised attorneys for both the prosecution and the defense.
Bent, 53, of Watervliet, had left Albany County Court earlier in the day, ordered by Judge John G. Turner Jr. to serve three months in jail for probation violations stemming from a grand larceny charge.
