YAMAHA has come up with the new RX-V2700 audio-visual receiver capable of generating up to 140 watts of power output x7 channels and features up to three high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) inputs for routing uncompressed digital audio and video signals.

This means that if your display system has only a limited number of HDMI input, other HDMI-equipped programme sources may be routed to the RX- V2700, which acts as a video centre for assigning each at a time to the display.
The HDMI inputs are also capable of up-conversion duties such as upscaling all video signals to 720p or 1,080i.

The titanium-finished (also available in black or gold) RX-V2700 packs a host of other features such as Yamaha's proprietary Digital Top Art concept, a new interior layout that completely isolates the digital, analogue and video sections to give the best possible performance in each individual section.

The receiver is also equipped to handle the latest PC-based music files and Internet radio, and comes with universal serial bus ports to allow playback of iPod portable players through Yamaha's optional YDS-10 universal iPod dock.

Measuring a fairly massive 435 millimetres by 171mm by 439mm, the RX- V2700 offers up to nine sets of speaker connectors to create up to three zones of musical operation. It retails at RM6,190.
